Oginome Youko

Oginome Youko was born on December 10, 1968 in Chiba, Japan. She is the younger sister of actress Oginome Keiko. All her life, Youko stayed focused on becoming famous. In elementary school, she won a singing contest and became part of a singing trio called "Milk", they released two singles, but broke up after a year. In junior high, Youko focused on attaining an acting career and auditioned for a live action movie called "Shonben Rider", but was cast into a voice acting position instead for the anime Miyuki. She gained a few more voice acting positions in other animes such as: Bari Bari Densetsu and Ugo Ugo Ruuga. She finally debuted the music scene indefinitely in 1984 releasing her first single "Mirai koukai ~Sailing~" under the label of Victor Entertainment (like Nakamori Akina and Okamoto Maiko.) While her 1st single didn't gain much attention, her 5th single "Koishite Caribbean" gained some popularity, but was mostly a chant song at sports events. Her 7th single "Dancing Hero -Eat You Up-" is what really pushed her name into the charts as a Eurobeat pop dance sensation. From then on she maintained a nice top ten string with a few number ones sprinkled in between. Her new-found instant popularity earned her spots on various commercials and tv programs. She hosted Young Studio 101 along with other idols at that time such as: Minamino Youko and Yoshimoto Miyoko. In 1986, Youko broadened her success into dramas, starring in titles such as: Soushun Monogatari (which I believe Harada Tomoyo sings the title song for), Akachan ni kanpai!, Komarasenaide!, Rin Rin to, Tokyo Kunitori Monogatari, and Nagoya Okane Monogatari. Her career in acting continued into the 90s, but she hasn't made any new dramas since then. In 2001, she discovered she was pregnant and held an abrupt and unexpected wedding with Tsujino Ryuusou, a professional tennis player with whom she graduated high school. Now, she has three children, and seems to have taken a hiatus from her musical career. Some of her most famous singles are: "Dancing Hero -Eat You Up-", "Roppongi junjou ha", "Sayonara kajitsu-tachi", and "Stranger tonight."
