Kuwata Yasuko was born on October 30, 1967 in Fukuoka, Japan. In elementary school, Yasuko won the chibikko singing contest at her school. In Junior High, she won the Grand Prix at the Fukuoka Music Festival two years in a row. She was high school classmates with many other idols such as: Okada Yukiko, Minamino Youko, Honda Minako, and Kawakami Yukie. In 1982, she won the "Zennihon Young Senbatsu Star wa kimi da" (You are the star of all of Japan) contest, unlike the many contests she had competed in and won, this one actually earned her a record deal. She was signed to Sun Music (as many idols are), and produced her debut single "Datsu Platonic" under Toshiba EMI. Unfortunately, she was only a small time idol, but her singing gained a reputation of being powerful, and yet light. She starred on a few radio programs, commercials, and tv dramas, but other than that her fame didn't last very long. Too bad, because she had nice powerful vocals and interesting songs. She returned to her hometown of Fukuoka in the 90s, and probably has a family now, there isn't a whole lot on information on her sadly enough. Her more famous singles are: "Datsu Platonic", "Ai Moral", "My Joyful Heart", and "Glass no Love Letter."
